What is a Flipper?
Flipper dentures, also known as acrylic removable partial dentures, are a type of temporary denture that can be used to fill gaps in your smile. They look a lot like a retainer with teeth attached. This can be popped in and out of your mouth with ease. Flippers are great for aesthetics though generally a temporary solution.
As opposed to permanent tooth replacement, dental flippers are a temporary tooth replacement that fill in gaps in your teeth. Its more of a transitional denture. If your tooth is removed, and you are looking for a party tooth to keep up appearances until you can go forward with more of a long term solution (dental implants, cast partials etc.) then flippers are perfect for you and your smile.
Is Flipper the same as Partial Denture?
Technically, Yes. But a Partial Denture is more of a permanent solution that can help with chewing and digestion. A Flipper denture is for your front teeth to make your smile full again, whether or not you can eat with a flipper denture… well they’re are not necessarily designed for biting or chewing so we would advise against this.
